About The Generous Horse Project
The Generous Horse Project is a Texas-based nonprofit dedicated to trauma-informed, relationship-centered healing through equine-assisted psychotherapy, nature-based experiences, and community education.

Founded in 2022, we support individuals, families, and communities as they navigate trauma, grief, and emotional overwhelm. Our team of licensed professionals and trained volunteers believes that healing happens through connection to self, others, animals, and the natural world.

WHAT WE DO

-
Licensed Mental Health Services: Individual, family, and group therapy for trauma, grief, anxiety, and attachment-related challenges.
-
Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy: Horses are co-regulators and relational mirrors in our trauma-informed therapeutic model.
-
Trauma Recovery for Horses: Many of our horses have lived through stress, neglect, or injury. We support their healing while modeling trauma-sensitive caregiving for the public.
-
Volunteer Training: We offer trauma-informed training for volunteers to support our herd and programming.
-
Educational Outreach: We collaborate with local schools and community organizations to teach trauma-informed strategies for children and families.
-
Workshops & Public Education: We provide trainings and consultation on integrating somatic, attachment-based, and animal-assisted approaches.
